Richard Dreyfuss (geboren op 29 oktober 1947) is een Amerikaanse acteur. Sinds eind jaren zestig speelt hij in film-, televisie- en theaterrollen, waaronder de films American Graffiti, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Goodbye Girl, Stakeout, Always, What About Bob? en het werk van meneer Holland. Hij won in 1977 de Academy Award voor Beste Acteur voor The Goodbye Girl en werd in 1995 genomineerd voor Mr. Holland's Opus. Hij won ook een Golden Globe Award, een BAFTA Award en werd in 2002 genomineerd voor de Screen Actors Guild Awards in de categorieën Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series en Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries.
