Val Edward Kilmer (31 december 1959 – 1 april 2025) was een Amerikaanse acteur. Oorspronkelijk was Kilmer toneelacteur en werd hij populair halverwege de jaren tachtig na een reeks optredens in komediefilms, te beginnen met Top Secret! (1984), daarna de cultklassieker Real Genius (1985), evenals blockbuster-actiefilms, waaronder een rol in Top Gun en een hoofdrol in Willow. In de jaren negentig kreeg Kilmer kritische waardering na een reeks films die ook commercieel succesvol waren, waaronder zijn rollen als Jim Morrison in The Doors, Doc Holliday in Tombstone uit 1993, Batman in Batman Forever uit 1995, Chris Shiherlis in Heat uit 1995 en Simon Templar in The Saint uit 1997. Begin jaren 2000 speelde Kilmer verschillende goed ontvangen rollen, waaronder The Salton Sea, Spartan, en bijrollen in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Alexander, en als de stem van KITT in Knight Rider.
