About Kino

What is Kino?

Kino is a platform created to keep track of what you watch, and see what your friends are watching.

You can save films for later, write reviews, make lists, collaborate with friends, and look back on the ones that stayed with you. Over time, it becomes a personal record of your taste, and the recommendations follow it.

We chose the name Kino because it means cinema in most of Europe.

Why we made it

While visiting cinemas we found that the discussion about the film afterwards became part of the cinematic experience. We wanted to create a product to bring that with you, even when you're watching alone.

At the same time, we grew increasingly frustrated with the amount of streaming services necessary to see what's out there. So we built a service which recommends you films and shows, no matter where they're available.

The team

We're a small team of tech nerds who love cinema. Kino was founded in 2026 and built independently. Our philosophy is simple: make something we'd enjoy using ourselves.
